Nell\u2019articolo si analizza come questo concetto divenga centrale anche nell\u2019approccio filologico e linguistico, in particolare nel mostrare la continuit\u00e0 ideologica, genetica e spaziale tra latino e italiano: la questione della \u2018lingua di Roma\u2019 (titolo di un volume di Giacomo Devoto) diviene cos\u00ec un tutt\u2019uno con la questione dell\u2019asse linguistico Roma-Firenze che nasce proprio in quegli anni.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>The concept of <\/em>Romanit\u00e0<em> in the philological and literary studies of the Istituto di Studi Romani<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Founded in 1925, the Istituto di Studi Romani played a fundamental role in the progressive development of one of the leading themes of the Fascist <em>Ventennio<\/em>: the idea and concept of <em>Romanit\u00e0 <\/em>(\u2018Roman-ness\u2019). <em>Romanit\u00e0<\/em> was not limited to archaeological aspects or merely symbolic reclamations (such as the <em>fasces <\/em>once carried by Roman lictors) but rather was understood as an unbroken line of continuity between the first Rome (embodied above all in imperial Rome) and the third Rome that was supposedly on the verge of opening onto a new empire.
