Calcio, politica e societ\u00e0 sotto il fascismo<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La storia del calcio a Roma \u00e8 un tema negletto ma centrale nella costruzione del mito di Roma nel Novecento, giacch\u00e9 rappresenta un veicolo identitario fortissimo e un formidabile repertorio di simboli. Ne \u00e8 prova il successo politico e socioculturale dell\u2019Associazione Sportiva Roma, sorta nel 1927 in ambienti dello squadrismo eterodosso che cercavano, attraverso lo sport, di far troneggiare il nome dell\u2019Urbe nel firmamento nazionale d\u2019un <em>English game<\/em> da italianizzare in fretta. Per i tifosi, invece, la squadra era piuttosto un emblema municipalistico, una federazione operante di tante micro-citt\u00e0 unite per raccontare un territorio e la sua gente. L\u2019articolo mira a ricostruire il ruolo dell\u2019A.S. Roma nell\u2019alimentare il mito di Roma e l\u2019orgoglio localistico, basandosi su un\u2019eterogenea gamma di fonti, dal cinema alla canzone, dalla stampa al vessillo da stadio.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>A.S. Roma and the myth of Rome. Football, politics and society under Fascism<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The history of football in Rome is a neglected topic, yet the sport was central to the development of the myth of Rome in the 20th century, offering both a highly effective vehicle for urban identity and a rich symbolic repertoire. This is proven by the political and sociocultural success of the football team A.S. Roma, which was born in 1927 in a Fascist milieu. The club\u2019s founders aimed to place Rome at the apex of the national hierarchy of an \u2018English game\u2019 that urgently needed Italianization. For supporters, by contrast, the newborn team was mainly a municipal emblem, a federation that would unite Rome\u2019s different communities to tell a new story of the territory and its inhabitants. This essay seeks to reconstruct A.S.
