Maria in Vallicella dal transito alla canonizzazione<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Il percorso che avrebbe portato al riconoscimento della santit\u00e0 di Filippo Neri ebbe di fatto inizio nel momento stesso della sua morte il 26 maggio 1595. Nell\u2019arco di ventisette anni, gli Oratoriani dovettero mantenere vivi i diffusi sentimenti di venerazione verso il fondatore della loro congregazione, cercando, nel contempo, di non forzare la volont\u00e0 dei pontefici. Il saggio affronta il ruolo non marginale giocato dalla musica nel percorso che avrebbe condotto Filippo Neri prima alla beatificazione e poi alla canonizzazione: dalle semplici musiche eseguite nella camera del santo, a quelle grandiose, a pi\u00f9 cori, eseguite nella chiesa di S. Maria in Vallicella in occasione della ricorrenza della morte di Filippo Neri. Il saggio presenta, infine, un mottetto di Gregorio Allegri in onore di Filippo Neri, che, per quanto se ne sappia, sembra essere il primo composto specificamente in lode del santo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Pulsata quantis vocibus basilica personat sacra. Music for St. Philip Neri at St. Mary in Vallicella from death to canonization<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The process that would lead to the recognition of the sanctity of Philip Neri began at the very moment of his death on 26 May 1595. Across a space of twenty-seven years the Oratorians had to keep alive the widespread feelings of veneration towards the founder of their congregation, while at the same time striving not to force the hand of the papacy. The essay examines the non-secondary role of music in the trajectory that would lead Philip Neri first to beatification and then to canonization: from the simple music sung in the chamber of the saint, to the impressive polychoral music performed in the church of S. Maria in Vallicella on the anniversary of Philip Neri\u2019s death.
