San Filippo Neri e le reliquie<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nei primi giorni dell\u2019anno 1590, nel corso di lavori di risistemazione dell\u2019antica diaconia di Sant\u2019Adriano nel Foro Romano, il cardinale milanese Agostino Cusani, molto vicino all\u2019ambiente oratoriano, ebbe la fortuna di rinvenire in un antico reliquiario un cospicuo numero di corpi di santi dei tempi del primitivo cristianesimo romano. Due di tali corpi, quelli dei martiri soldati Papia e Mauro, noti dalla passio Marcelli e un tempo sepolti nel Coemeterium Maius della via Nomentana, per volont\u00e0 di Cusani e con il consenso di Sisto V vennero destinati in dono alla Congregazione dell\u2019Oratorio, suscitando un irrefrenabile entusiasmo in Filippo Neri. Il contributo, nel ripercorrere tale episodio alla luce delle testimonianze del tempo, cerca di analizzare il rapporto tra il santo fiorentino e il mondo delle reliquie.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cHe carried and kept on him the relics of various saints.\u201d St. Philip Neri and relics<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Near the beginning of the year 1590, in the course of renovations to the ancient church of Sant\u2019Adriano in the Roman Forum, the Milanese Cardinal Agostino Cusani, who was very close to the Oratorians, had the good fortune to discover a large number of bodies of saints from the earliest days of Roman Christianity in an ancient reliquary. At the behest of Cusani and with the consent of Sixtus V, two of these bodies, those of the martyred soldiers Papia and Maurus, known from the passio Marcelli and once buried in the Coemeterium Maius of the Via Nomentana, were destined as gifts to the Congregation of the Oratory, arousing irrepressible enthusiasm in Philip Neri.
